What is Object-Level Security (OLS) in Power BI? In this video, I have explained the difference between RLS u0026 OLS and how to implement the OLS in Power BI. Object-level security (OLS) enables model authors to secure specific tables or columns from report viewers. From a viewer standpoint, the table or column simply does not exist. With object-level security, you can not only restrict access to data but also sensitive object names. This prevents users from discovering sensitive data such as an employee or insider financial records. Row-level security (RLS) with Power BI can be used to restrict data access for given users. Filters restrict data access at the row level, and you can define filters within roles. In the Power BI service, members of a workspace have access to datasets in the workspace. RLS doesn't restrict this data access.
