Puberty Blues was the Aussie coming-of-age film of the 80s. Here's how the woman who played Debbie scored the role and how it's stuck with her all these years on. Here’s a snippet from the 2012 Australian Story documentary, Life After Puberty. When the film Puberty Blues was released in 1982, parents were mortified, but kids loved it. The story seems to have lost none of its relevance over the decades and it is now being celebrated by a new generation of teenagers.
