Presentation by Mike Boothe The focus of the presentation will be on Belgium and the destruction the German Army visited on this small neutral country beginning in August of 1914. An examination of the conduct of the German Army and the massacres of 6,000 innocent men, women and children. Two competing narratives about the atrocities will emerge - one from the British and one from the Germans. One critical piece of information to keep in mind: Germany invaded Belgium, who at the time was the world's sixth most industrial nation but after about 50 months of German occupation their economy was in a shambles.
