INFO:
Distinguished guests join us to discuss inequalities amongst South Asians within: Mental Health | Maternity | Pharmacy | Primary Care | Diabetes. We will look at mental health and why uptake for IAPT tends to be lower amongst this community group. We will as why inequalities in maternal health have been larger overlooked. Outcomes for newborns are poorer in some south Asian communities. Xxx discuss work that is being carried out in this area. Professor Mahendra Patel, OBE, discusses the role of pharmacists during Covid and how South Asian pharmacists can continue to support areas with higher south Asian residents and encourage healthy behaviours. We will talk about the latest findings on Diabetes, the growing rates amongst younger South Asians and the future outlook. Last but not least, Amun Rehsi, Senior Research Executive (Public Affairs) at Ipsos Mori, takes us through the latest GP Patient Survey (GPPS) data results within the South Asian community, and the similarities and differences within these groups. GPPS is a national survey with around 3.5m surveys sent out. A large number of surveys enables data to be broken down by demographic groups at the national and ICS level whilst remaining robust. There will be an opportunity for questions and answers to the panel.
